Who is responsible
fearofspeakinginpublic.com is run by the site itself, which decides what it collects. For any privacy question, write to hello@fearofspeakinginpublic.com.
The fear forecast
What you pick and type in the forecast tool, including your ratings, your planned step and your date, is saved only in your own browser so you can compare it after your test. It never leaves your device. Removing this site's data in your browser settings erases it.
Visit statistics
We do not collect names or email addresses. To learn what helps readers, the site records a few events: a page view, the address that sent you, how far you scrolled, whether the question block came into view and which app link you tapped. Each event carries your browser language, operating system, screen and window size, time zone and a random ID kept in your browser. Your IP address gives a rough location and is not stored in full.
Where they go
The events travel through this site's own server to an analytics provider that holds them in the European Union. They serve one purpose, improving this page, and they are never sold or passed to advertisers.
Storage, not cookies
No cookies are set. Your browser's storage holds the random ID, a session marker, your saved forecast, your color theme and, if you close it, a note that hides the bottom bar. If you block the statistics script, everything on the page still works.
The app links
All app links lead to /first-step on this site. It reads nothing but your browser's user agent: Android devices continue to the Confidently listing on Google Play, with the link's position on the page added as a referrer, and all other devices continue to the App Store. The redirect keeps no log. In the store, Apple's or Google's terms and the app's own privacy policy apply.
Deleting your data
Ask us by email to delete the events tied to your random ID. Clearing this site's storage in your browser cuts that tie right away, because we never know who you are.
